Step 2: Navigate to the Server Tab
In the Options window, click the “Server” tab. You will see your account login number and server name. Look for the “Change” button next to “Password”. Screenshot: Server tab with Change button circled.
Step 3: Choose Which Password to Change
A popup will appear. Select either “Main password” (trading password – full access to trade and withdraw) or “Investor password” (read-only – can view charts and positions but cannot trade). Screenshot: Password type selection window.
Step 4: Enter Old and New Passwords
Type your current password in the “Current password” field. Then enter your new password twice (8+ characters, mix of letters and numbers). Check the box if you want to change the investor password only. Click “OK”. Screenshot: Change password form filled with new credentials.
Step 5: Confirm Changes on Mobile (If Using Multiple Devices)
If you also trade on mobile, log out and log back in with the new password on your iPhone or Android app. The old password will no longer work. Screenshot: MT4 mobile login screen with password field.
Step 6: Forgot Password? Contact Your Broker
MT4 does not have a “Forgot password” feature. If you lose your password, contact your broker’s support team. They will verify your identity and issue a new password. Screenshot: Broker support contact page.
